Who We Are
Alpha Methodist is a loving church family, and we hope you will join us for worship on Sunday at 10:30am! We are a church that is large enough to offer a great variety of programs and activities for all ages, but small enough where each person is “part of the family.”
WE ARE HERE
to follow Jesus Christ. We really believe that following Jesus is the best possible kind of life here on earth, and we want to warmly invite anyone to check out Jesus and what He has to offer. Because Jesus is our Lord, at Alpha we stay busy trying to make our world a more Christ-like, loving place.
WE ARE NOT HERE
to judge you or anyone. We are all broken people in one way or another. We believe that all people, ALL PEOPLE matter to God, and we believe that God loves to help broken people find a better way to live. We’re serious about this – no matter how messed up you think you may be, we have people at Alpha who have struggled just as much, and some still do! We are here to help.
WE BELIEVE
in God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We more than “believe” in God. We love God. He has done for us what we could never have done for ourselves. Do we always love others the way God loves us? No, but we are trying to become more like Jesus every day, with the help of the Holy Spirit.
WE BELIEVE
the Bible is God’s Word. At Alpha we take the Bible seriously and seek to live in light of what it says. But if you have doubts or questions, we are not here to beat you over the head with it. We are all growing together around the Word of God, and we would love for you to bring your questions as we explore God’s Truth together.
WE BELIEVE IN YOU!
If you are still breathing then your life isn’t over yet! We really believe God has a plan for your life, and that your best days are ahead of you. We believe life is so much more fun when you have a church family to share it with. We love each other, encourage each other, laugh with one another, and cry with one another. We are not a perfect church, but we just might be perfect for you. Hope to see you soon!
What to Expect
Services last about an hour. Our services offer a mix of traditional and contemporary elements. Services include a time of announcements and offering. As our guest, please don’t feel pressured to give. This is is followed by teaching from the Bible that’s relevant to your life, and a time of response to what God is saying to us.
Don’t worry about what to wear (we’ve got everything from suits to shorts and sandals). You may wish to show up a few minutes early to familiarize yourself with where everything is, to drop your kids off at the nursery if needed, and to find a seat.
Although a nursery is provided for your convenience, we do not mind them staying in the service with you if you prefer. Please do not feel like they are disruptive if we hear them during the service. We love our babies!
If you’re bringing your kids:
We have a nursery, for ages 0- 3 years We also offer a children’s church program: Kids’ Power Hour for ages 4 yrs -5th grade.
Both of these classes are for the whole service. The nursery is directly across the hall from the sanctuary if you go out the left-hand door at the front. The Power Hour classroom is located just around the corner from the sanctuary to the right.
Please note: There is no Power Hour on the 1st Sunday of each month (Communion Sunday.)
All of our volunteers and workers undergo strict background checks that are at or above the state-required level. Your kids are under constant supervision by staff that are trained in childcare and for emergencies.
